Welcome to our web site. We are a family operation and have been raising Appaloosas since the late 1960's. We believe in the Appaloosa to Appaloosa cross, and strive to produce good color, along with conformation, disposition, and proven bloodlines.
My parents bought our first Appaloosa in 1965. Chief was a yearling stud colt and our search for a similar gelding as a mate for him, soon changed and we were looking at fillies and mares instead. I bought my first Appaloosa in 1976, followed by purchasing a weanling stud colt (Montego Warrior) in 1977 from the famous Money Creek Ranch at Houston, Minn. In 1979, I purchased another stallion, War Fair, from Norm and Mabel Bunge of St Paul, Minn. War Fair was older, but had been a 4 Times Minnesota State Fair Halter Champion, WISSOTA Regional Champion, and won over 40 Grand Champion Honors when the Bunge's showed him. We stood both Monte and War Fair, until their deaths, and in those earlier years bred 15 to 18 outsides mares each year in addition to our own and our foal crops generally averaged 8 foals per year. Those were fun times. The poorer horse markets of the later 1980's caused us to cut back our numbers. Now, "the work" and physical limitations keep us trying to keep our numbers lower than in those earlier days. We try to limit our foals crops to around 4 babies each year, but we feel they are top quality foals.

In October 1999, we bought our son, Alex (then age 10) his registered pinto pony mare, Cherokee. He decided to show her in halter classes on the local WSCA circuit. Neither he nor Cherokee had ever shown before.
In their 4 years of showing (2000 - 2003), they went to 27 Shows:
